Happening at Canfield Avenue Elementary School in West Los Angeles on March 13, 2014 is a special fundraiser event hosted by none other than legendary “Showtime” Lakers guard and WNBA Dream coach, Michael Cooper! The first annual event invites all students of Canfield and students of the community to participate in a “shoot out” where pledge donations will be given per shot or a flat rate. All students have 1 minute to make as many shots as possible.
All proceeds of the event will go directly to Canfield Elementary to support essential programs including their PE coach, Field Trips and Teacher Aides.
Joining the event and open to the public will be some of our gourmet food truck friends who will also be donating a portion of their sales from the event straight to Canfield Elementary! Find The Greasy Wiener and The Pudding Truck parked outside of the school, grab a bite and feel free to stick around for the event! You’re dollars are going to a great cause!
If you have a child who would like to participate in the “hoop-a-thon” they must be between ages 5-12 years old and have permission to participate. Please download these forms to participate and for additional information. There are a ton of great prizes for collected pledges $20 and up. Use this form to participate in signing up your friends, family for their pledges. Participants also get a photo opportunity with the Laker legend himself!
Sounds like a lot of fun, right?! If you’re in the West Los Angeles/Beverlywood area, we hope you can make it, even if you don’t have kids to participate, swing by for the food and watch the kids “shoot it out!”.
