Festival of Childhood 2014

On Saturday April 26, 2014 Echo Parenting & Education will be hosting their annual, free open-air street event, Festival of Childhood in Echo Park. It is always held in conjunction with the Day of the Child and National Child Abuse Prevention. For one whole day the block is filled with music, laughter and color as children and families visit community booths and take part in arts and health activities. All activities are free!
The Echo Parenting and Education envisions a world of nonviolence in which adults respect children by ensuring their right to emotional and physical safety. The non-profit group provides services such as parenting classes, parent support groups, professional services and training for certificate programs, as well as community events.
This year’s event will feature performances by Tierra Blanca Arts Center, Hollow Trees, La Refalosa and more. There will also be over 20 art and play activities including rock wall climbing, Barnsdall Art, face painting, bubble bonanza, animation character design and sand painting.
This will be the first year this event will also include some of Got Food Trucks approved Los Angeles food truck friends who will be donating a portion of their proceeds back to the Echo Parenting & Education. These food trucks include: Fuego Fusion Tacos and The Pudding Truck. There will also be shave ice and farmers market vendors serving selected food items.
Come on out for a great day outdoors for a good cause!
