Some of Los Angeles’ finest gourmet mobile food trucks are giving back this holiday season by collecting non-perishable food to help make a statement against hunger. The Lobos Truck, India Jones Chow Truck, The Greasy Wiener, Peaches Smokehouse; Corn Heaven, Joe’s Pizza Truck, Canvas Food and TiffyLee Cakes have all taken the pledge to collect a minimum of 400 lbs of food now through January 4, 2014. The Food Truck Food Drive is organized by Los Angeles Food Truck marketing and event groups Got Food Trucks, The Food Trucker and LA Valley Food Trucks .
All donated items will go directly to the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank. The Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is a non-profit organization that helps to feed over 850,000 meals each week, with food being distributed across 1,000 sites and 650 charities. The organization heavily relies on the assistance of donations and volunteers to continue the fight against hunger in Los Angeles.
If you’d like to help out this holiday season to not only educate yourself, educate others but to make a difference, we ask that you drop off any non-perishable food item to any of the food trucks listed below (by following them on twitter) up through January 4, 2014. We thank you for your support and happy holidays!
